Travel Advice and Vaccinations

If you are planning to travel abroad, especially outside Europe, you may need extra vaccination. The nurse will give advice about necessary immunisations and general, hygiene and health topics. A charge will be made for services not covered by the NHS.

Please aim to contact the surgery at least eight weeks before travelling to allow time for vaccinations to be organised. If you are unable to give enough notice you will be given details of Travel Vaccination Clinics where there will be a charge.

We currently offer the following vaccinations for travel:

  • Cholera
  • Hepatitis A
  • Paratyphoid
  • Poliomyeltis
  • Smallpox
  • Typhoid

If you require any of these vaccination please complete the Travel Assessment Form below and hand in to the surgery at least 8 weeks before you plan to travel. We cannot guarantee an appointment with less than 8 weeks’ notice and recommend that you contact a local travel clinic.

We strongly advise that you seek advice from a local pharmacy or travel clinic regarding any additional vaccinations that you may require.

Information about which immunisations are required for the countries you are travelling to can be found via the link below.
